What is a perfume tester?

Testers are the bottles brands make for store counters, so shoppers can try a scent before buying. The perfume inside is exactly the same as the retail version. The difference is the packaging: testers usually come in a plain white or brown box, sometimes without a cap, and occasionally with “Tester” printed on the bottle.
